look ma, I'm a web developer!

So, it's only taken me 3 years, but I've finally gotten around to making the layout of my livejournal look like my website.

It wasn't too hard, once I'd mastered Livejournal's so called S2 style engine, which actually seems to have sane inheritance and semantics for a template engine. It was a bit complicated to get it set up, but I figured out what I was missing using this article. In the end it wasn't too hard to do.

Stephanie made chocolate cake. Chocolate cake and tea. Livejournal hacking and reading my bug-mail. Interspaced with meals of delicious noodle soup, I have drank my weight in chicken stock. It's now impossible for me to get sick, like ever again!

Finally, we have decided that Arch is harmful to software development. No one can work out whose tree all the cool development is happening in. So when the released version doesn't really work, and someone says use the development version, you're just as stuck. At least with CVS you can see all the branches that you could check out. With Arch, what do you do? Somehow, I don't feel that Googling to find a branch is really that crash hot an idea.

Time for more cake!
