Luis: I explained our upgrade less well than I should have. The E6k needs matching CPUs. All of our CPUs were 166MHz, running at 83MHz clock. The new 400MHz CPUs we purchased run at 100MHz clock. This meant that we needed to upgrade the clock board and one of the I/O boards, as well as all but one of the CPU boards. We'll have to remove all of the old 166MHz CPUs and the CPU boards they're on; we don't know what to do with them at the moment.

In the end we'll have 7 CPU boards in the machine, with 2x 400MHz 8MB cache Ultrasparc IIs on each and two I/O boards. This will give us 7 free slots (I think), so if you want to donate the cash, we can go up to 28 CPUs. We currently only have 12G of RAM to spread between the 7 CPU boards we have, so we would need some more of that too.
